Preserve the mixing mechanism
Scale-up should maintain the relevant circulation pattern, shear environment and product exposure rather than simply multiplying vessel volume.
Record the full pilot condition
Batch mass, density, fill, tool speed, power, time, temperature, addition sequence and discharge behavior are needed to interpret a pilot result.
Identify the controlling parameter
Tip speed, Froude behavior, power per volume, circulation time or heat-transfer area may control different processes. No single rule fits every mixer type.
Define production acceptance criteria
Blend uniformity, particle damage, moisture, temperature and cycle time should be measured with an agreed sampling plan at production scale.
